: I think that the July '99 date is still hard and fast (I could be wrong), but nobody ever heard of these folks, a. because of the nature of Hermits, and b. because Waywards, artwork aside, really are as mortal as the rest of Hunterdom, and far less inclined towards caution.
Naw... haven't you noticed? It's not explicitly stated, but Waywards are immune to forensic evidence! I mean, come on. God45 killed about thirty people in one day in the opening fiction, and the only person who noticed was the monster he was trying to piss off. What other explanation could there be?
Except, of course, for bad storytelling...
