Of course, I should point out that, just because you looked at the websites, doesn't mean you've ever used a gun.

I've done much the same, for character research. I can rattle off lots of info about guns, from ammunition capacity to calibers to comparisons of the actions. And, yet, I have never fired a firearm.

If _I_ were to find myself in that situation, I might go out and get a gun for myself, yes. One, because that's all I can afford. They are not cheap, unless you want a cheap gun. Most .45's are not, though. And when I went out to get that gun, it would be for me, to protect myself in case things went wrong. Just because you buy a gun certainly does not mean that you are ready to go out and use it on something. That's a step that's hard to take. Some people would take it in an instant. Others would hesitate, and still others would freeze.

But, since firepower alone can't take most of the monsters from Hunter out, it shouldn't be too big an issue. Most people who go in for guns and start shooting will probably end up arrested or dead. Guns leave lots and lots of evidence, and if you bought the gun legally, you're in trouble. And, I should point out that I wouldn't know where to go to buy a gun illegally.

My $.02 on the issue.

: ok. in real life, there are all sorts of ppl. this applies to the game as well. there are stupid ppl, stubborn ones, friendly ones, angry and vengeful ones... and all of them are scared by what they're facing. thing is, some ppl like guns. i'm one of them. i used to check weapons pages before ever hearing about Hunter. i know names and prices of guns, i know where to find them, i know where to buy them. And i never needed to use one. now, i'm in a crappy situation, where i'm forced to confront something in a violent manner. what do i do? i use my knowledge and resources to solve my problem in the most efficient manner. then help others od the same by providing some info. If it's guns im specialized at, that's what what i'll point them to. a swords lover would point me at something (site, shop, etc) associated with swords. a non-combatitive person would talk to me and try to change my views. whether he would succeed or not is another story. take Kami's example... she showed me that not all supes are evil. and she did that in a very effective manner. if you want less ppl fighting, do that. post interesting nice ic and plot posts showing off the virtues of peace. of course, don't forget that the game IS called HUNTER and not FRIENDS. some confrontations are necessary. and then, trust me, you WANT to have a trigger happy, sword totting, edge using mutha with you. 'nuff said. FiXXXer
