: First off... I e-mailed the webmaster of this site... took me a lot of friggin' hoops to even get this far from the FAQ, but it was sure an interesting ride...
First answer: The owner of this particular site, and any of the other sites, have put this stuff together voluntarily, and out of love for the game. We all get to things when we have the time.
: First off, the number for July 2002 is 835... is anybody using it? If not, I'll try to claim it when I hop on board officially from lurk mode.
I can't think of anyone who's using that number.
: Second, should I post like a resent "what the hell is going on?" or should I post one of those plot posts that I've been seeing first, then sum it up in a what the hell is going on post?
That's up to you. A good prelude tends to make a character more interesting for the readers, but others have jumped in with the obligatory "WTF?" post and done well.
: Third, anybody know if any characters on-list are based in Minnesota? What about Iowa? I was hoping to start up in one of those two states and didn't want to get in on anybody's turf (yet still hopefully follow the FAQ and start up near somebody else's turf.)
I think that both those areas are fairly free of storylines.
: Fourth, this "flame" stuff scared the shit (here's hoping I can swear on this board) out of me... is this normal, or was I just lucky enough to happen to see it.
Eh, the annual 'list loses it's mind' exercises. Don't sweat it.
: That brings up another one... didn't see mention of if we can swear on the list... though I've seen some of it, wanted to hear if it really was acceptable...
It's supposedly a 'mature' forum. In this case, the word 'mature' has nothing to do with self-control of any kind. It seems to convey the meaning that polymorphous perversity, a stage Freud tells us we should leave at age 3, is the order of the day. Swear if you like.
