Links to the supernatural are probably one of the most important aspects of being a hunter, yet one of the most poorly written on the list. They can add a lot to your characters personality and provide ample oppurtunity for original plot posts. Unfortunately the typical 'my vampire lover gave me a copy of the book of nod' type of storylines not only destroy the atmosphere of the list, but can make for boring plot posts.
I'm not against people having supernatural characters as friend's, etc. Ciphers recent dilemma was one case where it provoked a reaction more IC then OOC- proving that it can be a useful way of developing characters. However, cases where supernatural allies have been used to create unstoppable 'uber-hunters' have been known and, quite frankly, ruin the fun of the list. Posts that deal with the Hunter's dilemma, insecturities and suchlike are more in the spirit of the game.
I would also like to add that I am intending to add a couple of monster allies to my plot posts at a later date as events unfold for Stained Glass.
