To reckon, means to count, or account.
A day of reckoning is a day when accounting is done. To apply vengence to this solely is folly and fails to use the word properly.
"You Are The Reckoning". I would take this to mean that the "you" in question is being called to make the Afflicted account for their actions, and, contrary to what may be supposed, accounting does not always mean paying a debt. Indeed, the fact that some edges can be used to *heal* the Afflicted, shows that, even in this respect, the Messengers must feel that some monsters are worth saving...that, in this accounting, their page in the books puts them on the plus side of things.
Now, if WW would like to provide a lexicon of what words will mean what forever more, let them. Until then, I'll defer to the proper use of the word, which is not a vengful one.
